Give a Book a Happy Home

I like setting goals for myself. Since I love to read I have decided that my new goal is to read 20 classic novels. I found a good list online and was surprised to find that I have already read some, but I sill have a long way to go. I will not be starting right away because I just ordered a book from the library (Panther in the Sky by James Thom) and I need to finish it before it is due back. God Time

Scott and I have been doing a couples devotional together that is really good so I wanted to recommend it to all the cool people that read this blog. It is called Devotions For a Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. It is extremely deep and thought provoking, and has sparked good conversations between us. We do it when we first wake up in the morning before we even get out of bed, and is a wonderful way to start the day together. It is supposed to be a years worth of weekly devotions but we do it everyday because we like it so much.

Craft Idea

I felt like being crafty today so I went to Joann’s and bought cardboard letters, then I covered them with embossed scrapbook paper. They now sit on top of my kitchen cabinets as a reminder of what I love to do most (like a need a reminder). It was an easy and super cheap way of spicing up my kitchen.

Moving Forward

I just realized that I have not updated everyone on our current church situation. I am sure that some of you already know that we are no longer serving at Celebration Baptist Church. Scott has been the interim worship leader there for about a year. About a month ago Scott was approached by River Town Church wanting him to come and be the full-time worship leader there. It was not even on our radar to move churches at the time so we immediately told them no. We then realized that we had not even prayed about that decision or given God the chance to guide us. For about a month we had been praying about what we needed to do. It was agonizing to say the least but we finally felt the Lord leading us to move to River Town. Many times it hard to understand God’s timing but we are called to walk in faith. Faith is more than just believing, it is doing.  

It was hard for me to leave Celebration since it is the only church family I have ever known (except Arlington Baptist). We will definitely miss every one at Celebration. We are excited because River Town is a permanent position and since Scott is not called to be an interim worship leader we know that this where God has us now.

Sean the Assassin

We spent the week in St. Augustine with our friends Krista and Sean and their baby Jacob. We had a great time eating, laughing, and lounging on the beach. Here is a video that Scott made of us attacking him with an airsoft gun.
