My family is off to the Bahamas for the week. Tough life…I know. I will not have my computer so I will not be blogging for the week. See ya later.

My b.f.f.e.s.w.w.b (best friend forever ever since we were born) Shelby had her first baby yesterday. Audrey Kate Brewer was born at 12:01 p.m. and weighed a whopping 9 lb 13oz! She is huge but oh so beautiful. I am still in shock how smooth her labor and delivery was, and in Shelby’s own words, “That was ridiculously easy!”

Sorry for the absence of blogging lately. I have started to write numerous times but always got distracted by something else going on.

Mom, Brittany, and I got back from Boston late Sunday night. We had an amazing time exploring the city for 5 days. While we were there we made the observation that we had never done a girls trip with just the three of us before. Growing up it would have been mean to go off and leave dad at home by himself, but now that Brittany I are married he had our husbands to play with. We definitely want to make a habit of doing a girls trip for two reasons: 1. We bonded and 2. our guys missed us so much it was pathetic. It is good to spend time apart because you realize just how much you need each other.

We walked the freedom trail, did a Duck Tour, and bike tour. We also ate a lot. We chowed down on Boston Cream pies, New England Clam Chowder, oysters, and drank tea. On the 4th we sat by the river and listened to the Boston Pops and watched the fireworks. I tell you what, Boston knows how to Celebrate the birth of our country. They go all out with the celebration and they put us to shame. I feel 25% more patriotic now that I have celebrate the 4th of July in Boston…you would too.

I am now gearing up for a week long trip to the Bahamas on Sunday.

This week me, mom and Brittany are taking a girls trip to Boston. We will be up there during the 4th of July and I am looking forward to celebrating the anniversary of our country in the area where it all started. We have never been before and we need advice on what to do. Any ideas?  

I am super excited about tonight’s television lineup. At 8 I will be watching this and then at 9 I will stay tuned in to experience this. I get a real kick out of people eating it. 

This is probably one of the funniest videos I have seen in a long time. I am not sure if this guy is an idiot or genius (I had better not label him as idiot because this looks like something I would try if given the chance). Click here to see the video.  

I just got the results back from my biopsy and everything is okay. Hooray! 

There’s nothing like the dermatologist scaring the crap out of you. 

People ask me all the time why I hate the sun and never have a tan. When I go to the beach I am the nerd sitting under the bright colored umbrella with a hat on. I will admit, there are times when I am tempted to give into peer/social pressure and tan until I look like a Latin American. 

A visit to the dermatologist Friday confirmed my decision to stay out of the sun. I had a spot that showed up on my forehead in November and would not go away. I decided to go to the dermatologist and have her check it out just to be safe. She took one look at it and said, “Oh man, we had better take a biopsy of that to make sure it is not skin cancer.” Excuse me? I am only 25 for crying out loud! I guess the fact that my dad had malignant melanoma a while back should not surprise me that I’m at risk of getting it too. 

Before I knew what was happening the dermatologist was giving me a shot to numb the area and then shaving away the spot. For the last 24 hours I have been sporting a band aid on my head which looked really cute. Now that the band aid is gone I have a nice red crater in my face. Wonderful. I am hoping it will heal back to normal, and praying that my results are negative. 

I am now more convinced than ever to stay out of the sun which is okay with me because having a tan does not make me beautiful. 

Who else is fed up with the stupidly high oil prices? If you want to do something about it I found a website created by Newt Gingrich petitioning to drill for oil here in America…now. If you want to sign the petition go here and do it. It may not seam like much, but at least it is a start. I feel better knowing I am at least trying to stop the absurdity of paying our enemies for oil. If you do not agree with drilling for oil in America then do not sign the petition. 

P.S. Did you notice that in the picture George is holding that guy’s hand? He much have a man crush.
