An Inconvient Guilt Trip

May 12, 2008 · 5 Comments

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of this Global Warming silliness being shoved down our throats? I cannot look to my left or right with out someone or something telling me how I can “go green.” All this talk makes me want to rebel and “go black.” Tomorrow I may leave my bathroom light on ALL day. Gasp!

Let me clarify one thing. The earth’s climate changes. It has been changing for centuries. It will rise a few degrees and then it will fall a few degrees.

It is silly for us to freak out and overreact because of a .1 degree rise in temperature. People can believe what they want but it starts to get personal when people are punished and taxes are raised in order to fight global warming. Hillary Clinton wants to make it a law that everyone must reduce their energy bills by 80%. That means we will be using less energy than people in colonial times. I am not prepared to live by candle light and throw out all my appliances…sorry.

I know how the story ends, and human kind is not wiped out by the earth turning into a crock pot and slowly cooking us all to death.

Haha! If the earth was a crockpot, what would you be? A carrot? Celery? Pot roast?

Erica, you dont cook dounuts in a crockpot silly! But I totally agree with you about the global warming thing! Green used to be my favorite color but I think I might have to switch back to pink because the libs are ruining it for me! I heard on the radio yesterday that Americans “going green” are making a difference…in the price of our food and it is only hurting our economy even more!!! So Al Gore needs to go live with the melting ice caps in the North Pole and stop brain washing Americans!

    I’m done for now!

i have a confession….i leave my kitchen light on 24/7. i know i’m horrible. i am probably personally responsible for most of the global warming :) i also wonder how people who fly on private jets and have (multiple) huge mansions and a fleet of vehicles have the right to tell me what my thermostat should be set at, or what i should drive or not drive. i just read a minute ago that christina ricci got a 3 year lease on a car, then saw an inconvenient truth, and now feels guilty about her car and cannot wait for her lease to be up. that’s just a ridiculous thought, that al gore can make someone feel guilty over what kind of car they have!! and Christians are supposed to be the close-minded ones??

It’s not just you, Erica. I’m sick of the global warming nonsense too.
